Baby Quilts

These are a couple of baby quilts that my friend Lisa and I made. I did the painting which you see here. And she quilted them. It was fun to do and the babies we made them for I'm sure will enjoy feeling the soft silk against their skin. Of course we didn't take pictures of the finished quilts, but here they are while I was still painting. These are made with 36" x 36' square scarves. I get the blank silk scarves from Dharma. Usually, I use the silk satin or haboti. If you don't know about Dharma Trading Co yet, check it out!

The first one has an underwater theme. It has lots of different underwater creatures: eels, squid, jellyfish, seahorses, crabs, starfish, and sand dollars.

The next one started out as a rocket to the moon. I'd planned a simple rocket going to the moon with stars all over the sky. Lisa mentioned that the friend we were making it for loved Paris. So, I included the Eiffel Tower, in sort of a "Paris to the Moon" theme. Take a look.
